Denae (she/her/hers) is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who loves working with individuals, couples, and families through a strengths-based approach. Denae believes that relationships can be both the greatest source of pain in our lives and the greatest source of healing, joy and meaning. This is why she does what she does as a therapist - to create healthy/healing connections with clients and walk with them through the intricate web of life's greatest joys and pain, fostering healthier connections and enhancing emotional bonds within families and relationships.
With specialties in trauma, couples therapy, anxiety, teen issues and relational dynamics, she is dedicated to providing a safe and supportive space where healing can unfold. She utilizes frameworks from attachment theory, family systems and is trained in Gottman Method for her work with couples. She understands the intricate interplay between past experiences and present relationships, and she works with clients to explore these dynamics, fostering greater self-awareness and promoting positive change. She is deeply committed to creating a non-judgmental environment where clients feel validated, heard, and empowered to explore and address their concerns. Denae deeply values and enjoys the ability to hold the stories of her clients and watch them create change, growth and transition to healthier mental, emotional and relational lives.
Denae received her BA in Psychology from Trinity Western University in British Columbia, Canada. She received her MA in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. She loves any time spent with her family. She enjoys being outside, hiking, baking, playing piano/guitar and dreaming of being in the mountains.
